Our Child Care Program

The children’s learning environment is dynamic, complex and holistic. Physical, social, emotional, personal, spiritual, creative, cognitive and linguistic aspects of learning and all intricately interwoven and interrelated. Play allows for the expression of personality and creativity, it enhances dispositions such as curiosity and creativity. We have implemented the Early Years Learning Framework to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school and this consists of principles, practices and learning outcomes. Fundamental to framework is belonging, being and becoming.

We use weekly reflection sheets each week to plan our indoor and outdoor curriculum and we conduct 2 group times a day. We evaluate and reflect on the days outcomes and plan new activities for the next week. We have incorporated environmental education into all aspects of our curriculum and in everyday practices. We do detailed observations of all the children in our service, including learning stories, project work, celebration of achievement records, and child’s profile for each child. We have portfolios for each child (including photos, observations, learning stories, art work and information about your child and planning ideas, project work, learning outcomes and what we would like your child to achieve). We set up activities each day, both indoors and outdoors, and we plan on your child’s interests and needs, and strengths, and we evaluate and weekly do extension activities for ongoing learning. We invite and welcome parent and community input.
